Tapawingo Builds Compassion, Courage, and Confidence

Since 1919, Tap has been making a difference in the lives of girls. Our staff, current families and alumnae agree that the experiences and relationships our campers enjoy during their summers at Tap are influential in their development into compassionate, courageous, and confident adults.

“As an educator, you realize that you have to know your students, so that is something that Tap definitely prepared me for. It was hard work, but it was very rewarding. I still talk to my camp friends to this day. Camp is so special–it’s very unplugged, it allows you time to go read a book, to sit on the hill and talk to someone, to sit on the porch during the storm and just listen to the rain.”

Our intimate camp community fosters connections and deep relationships. We cheer each other on, we hold one another accountable to our philosophy and culture, we tap into shared experiences and celebrate our differences. We are a FAMILY.

At Tap we are lucky enough to unplug, tune out the noise of the outside world and provide meaningful experiences and relationships for our campers. Our atmosphere of safety and inclusivity inspires Tap girls to find each other and themselves as they explore new adventures in a beautiful lakeside setting.

Why Seven Weeks at Tap Makes a Difference

A Tap Girl for Life

Tap girls may move around the globe but they always have a home on Keyes Pond. Neither years nor distance can weaken this connection. Generations of Tapawingo campers are joined through songs, traditions, relationships, alumnae celebrations, shared experiences and their love for their summer home.

“It was a place where I learned about myself, learned how to be independent, how to be a team player, how to lose, how to win, how to make mistakes, succeed, and grew a ton of confidence. Tapawingo pushed me to try new things, even when they felt scary or uncomfortable.”
