TAPAWINGO TATTLER December 2006

Reunions

Boston and New York Reunions were great! The Boston reunion was on November 12 at Ellery Rosin’s house. We saw lots of kids and about 5 counselors. The New York reunion was on December 11 at Chloe Friedman’s home in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. The prize for the longest distance camper was given to Erin Caplan, who came from Pittsburgh. But Sophie Rothman gets the award for persistence and capable use of the cell phone: she and her mom had a tough time finding Chloe’s home. At both reunions, we saw camp slides and caught up on friendships since we were last together on August 11.

2007 Juniors

Leah Kaye: I am 9 and it is going to be my first year at Camp Tapawingo. I think it will be so much fun. I will meet new people, play around, and learn how to do new things. I have two pet guinea pigs named Spike and Steamer. I play soccer and last year we won the division. I have two brothers: Max and Sam. I won't miss them that much. I can't wait to go.
Sarah Silverstein: I live in Port Washington, New York. I am 9 years old. I turned 9 on October 3rd. I am in 4th grade at Guggenheim Elementary School. My teacher is Ms. Bray. She's the best. I am in a family of 5. I am involved in a few activities. I do soccer in the fall. I am on the Port Washington Soccer Club. I also do dance. I take ballet and jazz. And one more thing which I'm not so fond of is Hebrew school. I can't wait until summer so I can go to Camp Tapawingo. I can't wait to meet all you guys.

2007 Lo Mids

Jeanne Johnson: The fall has been great and I have been doing a lot of running. I did a Kiwanis Club 1 Mile Fun Run and came in 16th place out of 8 participating elementary schools. Then my family and I did a 5K Shelter Island Run to benefit wounded Iraqi War soldiers. I placed 157th out of nearly 900 runners. It was a lot of fun. I would love to hear from my friends on email!
Daisy Olschansky: Soccer is over and I am now taking tennis lessons. I have kept in touch with some friends and counselors since camp ended.
Lucy Friedmann: I was born in Chicago and now I live in Providence, Rhode Island. I will be 10 in March. I like to travel and enjoy playing with my dog Pokey.
Renee Perkins: Hockey and indoor soccer are my sports. At home, my cat Bear who I thought was a boy turned out to be a pregnant female. At school, I’ve been really busy with annoying boys to having a lot of overdue homework. I’ve told a lot of my friends about Tap, so they might be coming next year. My BF Kate already knows 10 camp songs from me singing them so much so whenever I sing a song, she’ll sing along with me. Love you all and see you next summer!!! Tap girls rule!
in January. I also occasionally talk to my friends on IM, but I've been so busy! I miss you all!! Can't wait for June!
Emily Carney: I'm 11 years old and love to play lacrosse. I have three labs, and a cat. I'm from Washington, DC. Hope to meet you soon!
Josie Olschansky: Soccer is over. I am now playing winter soccer, basketball, and taking jazz. I have kept in touch with some friends since camp ended.

2007 Lo Inters

Emily Karr Kaitin: Since camp I’ve been working on my tennis almost everyday, and am taking tough lessons, in order to get on the tennis team at Tap this summer. I’m still working on acting and am auditioning for a lead role in my Jr. High school's winter play. I am also singing camp songs to myself wherever I go!!!! Missing camp like crazy!!!
Blaine Dinkin: I have done so much since school started. Here are some things. I started a new school with Maddy Pollock, and Lily Epstein. Even though Maddy and I don't have any classes together, we talk about camp nonstop! I went to Las Vegas over Thanksgiving break, and just started swimming for my school. Even though I have been very busy, I still talk to every one from camp. I listen to camp songs all the time even when I am supposed to be doing my homework!
Elana Leifer: I see Janey Zitomer almost every day at school and she is well. I was recently in New York and saw Emma Klein and Grace Powell. I also know this girl that is interested in coming to Tapawingo, her name is Rachel Mcdermott. She lives in Connecticut. She would be a Lo-Inter next year. I have known her for my whole life, she is so nice and we were born on the same day!! I am going to be in New York over Christmas and New Years break and I would like to see some people.
Molly Snyder: I have a new baby brother named Nicholas. I am going to the Galapagos Islands for my winter break. I miss all my camp friends. My sister Rachel is being bat-mitzvahed in April (can’t wait). I am enjoying my school year, still playing the violin, and am going to start diving lessons. Can’t wait for summer!!!

2007 Hi Inters

Erin Caplan: Since camp I have seen Maddi Winer, and I saw most of the High-Inters '07 in New York when we spent the weekend together! I played field hockey for school, and we had a very good season. I have also been very busy with swimming.
Nicolette Weinbaum: My brother got married! I saw Erin two days before the reunion.

2007 Sub Seniors

Blair Zimelis: Since August 11, I have been to New Jersey for Carly Mauss's Bat Mitzvah and saw Dani Bembry, Abby Zwetchkenbaum, and of course Carly. 8th grade is great! I am involved in dance and tennis this year. can't wait to see everyone even though it might not be until June!
Valeria Lozano: Since I left tap there hasn't been anything exciting. I’ve just been spending every day with Dani and Ale, since they’re in my group of best friends. BYE!

2007 Seniors

Nicole Melton: Hi Tap!! I miss everyone so much! Not looking forward to a long winter, I’d much rather be at camp! Since August, I've seen Chelsea Alpert. This December I'm seeing Chelsea, Maggie, Alyssa and maybe Jenn! I started high school this year, and I am playing field hockey and lacrosse. I WISH I WAS AT CAMP!! I MISS THE SENIORS OF 2007!!
Mia Katz: Hey everyone! Everything at home’s going well, but I can’t wait to be at Tap. I just saw Haley Moss and Sarah Horwitz in Philly, and plan to see Becca soon. I’m still doing photography of course, swimming for my school, playing indoor lacrosse, editing a school magazine, and working at my temple. I can’t wait until I see my Seniors! Tattler/Banquet 2007 is going to be amazing, everyone get excited!!
Leah Gibbs: In the fall I was on the JV Volleyball team. I have seen Haley Moss, Skylar Kalin, Zannie, Elizabeth Albert, and Rachel W. I am going to California for Winter break. I made varsity basketball as a freshman. I miss camp like crazy. I don't know what to do. I want this summer to come so quickly. Miss everyone so much.
Skylar Kalin: I am getting used to my new school, Trinity. I am making new school friends and am staying in touch with my seniors 07. I have seen, talked, and e-mailed them. I miss camp so much and I am so excited for this coming summer.
Elizabeth Albert: I'm having an amazing school year. I played freshman volleyball and now am running track and starting indoor lacrosse. So far this year I've seen Zannie, Leah, Rachel W., Sydney W., and Skylar. I miss camp so much and am always singing camp songs, and I'm already counting down the days!!
Haley Moss: I have two younger twin sisters who are going to be Juniors this summer (Robyn and Jenny). Some of the things that I like to do are shopping, listening to music, hanging out with friends, snowboarding, playing volley ball, and softball. I was just in Philly and saw two of my camp friends, Mia Katz and Sarah Horwitz. I also recently saw Leah Cramer Gibbs and Elizabeth Albert.
Zannie Halbeck: I have just joined the LPJ crew team. I have seen Leah Gibbs, Eve Levin, Elizabeth Albert, and Rachel Weinstock (over Thanksgiving break). We just got two new kittens (named Haku and Simba)! Seniors '007 are life!!! (luv ya girlies!)

2007 CITs?

Sophia "PFunk" Rabb: Things at home have been pretty good. I've been spending most of my time with a riding team and I just qualified for regional finals. I'm trying to get enough points at regionals to go to nationals in Ohio. It's a lot of fun, but it takes up almost every week day and the whole weekend, pretty
much. I'm looking forward to February because I can have my social life back! I'm getting used to being an only child now that my brothers are at college.
Ellery Rosin: During the fall I played soccer. My team won our league (greater Boston league) and the Division 2 North title. Now I’m swimming and playing indoor soccer. I had the Boston reunion at my house and a couple of Seniors stayed at my house that weekend. It was a lot a fun.
Caroline Heyman: Hey everyone! Since the last day of camp, a lot of things have been going on in my life. I am going to a new school and I LOVE IT. I played on my volleyball team, and I just joined the bowling team which is so much fun. The weekend of November 11, Casi, Izzy, and Janey all came to Chicago to visit me. We had so much fun just sitting around and talking about what a great summer we had. I am also going to India for winter
break, which I am so excited for. I miss everyone so much, and hope to see you all soon. KIT.

A Special Thanks to Mia Katz.

She volunteered to put together the paragraphs from campers and sent Jane her special notes for this issue. I know that Mia will be working this summer on the Tattler, so we know it will be a great issue! Thanks, Mia!
